Goa in brief
Goa , a land of beautiful places , is one of the famous tourist destinations in the world. Every year lots of tourists visit this place. It is located in west India and is bordered by the state of Maharashtra to the north , Karnataka to the east and south , while the Arabian sea forms its western coast. It is divided into two districts , North goa and South goa.
Goa's state animal is the Gaur, the state bird is the Ruby Throated Yellow Bulbul , which is a variation of Black crested bulbul and the state tree is the Asan.
North goa
Panaji is the capital of goa and headquarters of the North Goa district.
The North Goa District is further divided into four subdivisions –Mapusa , Bicholim , Panaji and Ponda;
And six talukas Pernem , Bardez(Mapusa) , Bicholim ,Sattari(Valpoi) , Tiswadi(Panaji) , and Ponda.
South goa
Margao is the headquarters of the South Goa district.
The South Goa District is further divided into three subdivisions –Margao , Mormugao(Vasco) , and Quepem;
And six talukas, Mormugao(Vasco) , Salcete(Margoa) ,Quepem , Canacona(chaudi) , Sanquem , and Dhardandora.
Transport
A lot of transport facilities are available in goa.
Dabolim airport in Vasco da Gama and New Goa International Airport at Mopa , Pernem cater to domestic and international airlines.
Private buses and Government owned kadamba transport corporation ( ktc ) buses are connected to almost all tourist places , cities and villages .

One can also rent motorbike or car.
Railway station at Vasco daGama , Margao , Tivim and Verna .
